some signs of Periodontal (Gum) Disease may include any or all of the following:
- swollen or puffy gums
- gums that appear to be receding or pulling away from the teeth
- gums that appear bright red - especially around the edges and between teeth
- gums that feel tender to the touch or sensitive to brushing and/or flossing
- gums that bleed easily with brushing or flossing
- persistent bad breath
- loose teeth or teeth that feel mobile
- new spaces developing between teeth
If you notice any of these signs or symptoms its important to have your condition evaluated as soon as possible. With a thorough evaluation Dr. Kinsey will be able to diagnose the presence or absence of gum disease and make recommendations accordingly. If caught early enough gum disease may be 100% reversible, and as with most things, the earlier you diagnose and treat the better and more predictable the outcome.
