Meet Danica Atkinson, RDH, BSDH

Registered Dental Hygienist in Flowery Branch, GA

Danica Atkinson is a caring and adept dental hygienist passionate about helping patients achieve optimal oral health. Originally from Flowery Branch, Georgia, Danica has always been interested in the field of dentistry.

In 1995, Danica established her dental practice shortly after graduating from the University of North Georgia in Gainesville and Lanier Technical College. In that year, she received the Thomas Hinman Scholar Award and was accepted into the National Vocational Honour Society, evidencing her initial commitment to study and excellence.

Years later, in 2019, Danica decided to return to school to further her education. She graduated from Clayton State University with a B.S. in Dental Hygiene. While there, she was awarded Outstanding RDH/BSDH Student as a testament to her hard work and dedication to patient care.

Danica’s priority is to ensure treatment for all her patients so they can have healthy smiles. She believes that good oral health is directly involved in overall health and well-being. She loves educating patients on proper ways of brushing, flossing, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Her friendly nature and gentleness put patients at ease and make them feel comfortable during their visits.

Over the years, Danica has gathered all the expertise and warmth to add to any appointment. From routine cleaning to imparting wisdom about better home dental care, she always makes time for her patients in terms of listening and helping.

Danica is a true believer in building trust with patients and listening, and being respected. She likes creating long-standing relationships and following up with patients each year as a family unit. Her personality, being caring and upbeat, gets patients of every age comfortable in the dentist chair, and she loves it. Danica believes that making changes in smaller forms in the practice of dentistry can create a great big healthy whole difference and make a dent in confidence.

Beyond the workplace, Danica’s life is also filled with happiness and busyness with her family. She has been married and has four children and two grandchildren. When she is not in the dental office, she enjoys spending time with her loved ones and making the most of each moment together.

Danica’s journey—from starting her career in 1995 to earning a bachelor’s degree and multiple honours—shows her strong commitment to growth and patient care. She is proud to serve her community and looks forward to helping every patient reach their dental health goals.
